The columnar Triangle Cactus grows to a height of 2–7 meters. The stems are 3 inches in diameter, dark green, and have three to five angles. There are 2-3 cm between areoles, which are grey. The flowers have a tube that is up to 8 to 15 cm long and up to 8 inches in diameter. The pistils are creamy white, the inner tepals are pure white, and the outer petals are greenish white. The 2 inch-long red, glossy fruits are lustrous.
